It started with a simple question we couldn’t ignore: “Can you think of another way to bring in customers easily without spending much?”
At the time, we were helping small businesses with strategy and systems. We noticed a pattern—businesses were spending a lot of money - and time and frustration - on print ads, mailers, coupons, online ads, SEO, and social media, often getting little in return, but continuing the effort because "everyone is doing it". Some owners we talked to said they spent over 20% of their time weekly on efforts to bring in new customers.
That didn’t sit right with us. We believe in transparency, in doing what we say, and in honoring Christ by serving others with integrity, and producing measurable results.
So we began searching for a smarter, more honest way to help our clients grow. Our client wasn't just interested in a "sale" that would boost temporary revenue and then be back to the same old situation. So, our mission goals were two-fold: 1) increase revenue and 2) achieve consistency in results. That’s when we found text marketing—not the spammy kind, but simple, respectful, and permission-based messages that actually get seen.
Of course, coming from the tech world, we tested it first. Then we saw the results. And then we did what we always do when something works: we shared it.
